A Simple, Sample Sauna Session

Part of the joy of taking a sauna is its simplicity and lack of
rules — just get in the sauna and enjoy yourself. That said,
there are a few accepted procedures that are wise to follow,
especially in a public sauna. Observing some basic guidelines
will show respect for your fellow bathers and assure you of a
good sauna experience.

Local Customs

If you are using a public sauna, you must abide by their
regulations. Some require bathing suits, while others prohibit
them. If bathing suits are not allowed and you don’t feel
comfortable being nude, you can wrap a towel around yourself. In
either case, you should bring a towel into the sauna to sit on.

Always take a shower before entering the sauna, but do not use
soap or shampoo. The perfumes in soap and shampoo will fill the
air in the sauna and be unpleasant for other bathers.

Some Like It Hot

In a public sauna you can’t control the temperature, but if you
are using a private sauna and are new to the experience, you
should begin with a lower heat. Some sauna aficionados will heat
the sauna up to 210 degrees Fahrenheit, but for your first few
sessions you should set the temperature between 160 and 175.
That’s still plenty hot!

On entering the sauna you can sit on the upper or lower benches.
The upper benches are hotter, so move to the lower benches if
you find it too hot. After 5 or 10 minutes pour some water on
the rocks to create a cloud of steam. This raises the
temperature and humidity, which will cause you to sweat even
more.

Don’t stay too long, especially when you are starting out. 10 or
15 minutes is plenty — you can always go back for more. After
each session take a cold shower or quick swim and relax for a
while before going back in.

Relaxation Is Key

Relaxation is central to taking a sauna. The sauna can clear
your mind, refresh your body, and leave you feeling rejuvenated.
Keeping this in mind, avoid talking about business or
controversial subjects in the sauna. It’s a place to get away
from the stresses of the world, and any conversation should be
light and friendly. In Finland it is traditional to use leafy
branches from birch trees to gently beat the skin. This produces
a tingling sensation and is quite invigorating. Your local
health club isn’t likely to have a supply of birch branches, but
if you can take a sauna in the countryside, you might be able to
experience this old tradition.

A Roll In The Snow, Anyone?

Another Finnish tradition is rolling in the snow after a sauna.
“Those crazy Finns!” you may be thinking, but this can be very
revitalizing after a sauna session. Whether you take a shower, a
swim, or a roll in the snow, the effect is quickly cooling off
to feel refreshed and relaxed.

The cycle of heating in the sauna and cooling off can be
repeated as many times as you like. Most sauna experiences last
about 30 minutes to 1 hour, including 2 or 3 cycles of heating
up and cooling off. But if you have the time, you can continue
for hours.

Do It, But Don’t Overdo It

Saunas are a time-proven method of bathing, and are quite safe
for just about everybody. If you feel uncomfortable at any time,
leave the sauna right away. Taking a sauna should not be a
contest to see who can take the most heat. There can be dangers
if you overdo it.

Thailand - Chang Mai and the Night Market

Chang Mai is the largest city in the north of Thailand and well
worth a trip. In many ways, Chang Mai is similar to Bangkok, but
without the mass of people.

Chang Mai

Chang Mai is perhaps the most serene big city I have ever had
the privilege of visiting. Located at the foot of a large
mountain, the city nicely meshes older areas with modern
conveniences. Serene Buddhist temples stand only a few blocks
from bustling universities. Much of the city can be walked, but
moped rentals are cheap and plentiful. Street markets are
common, but the hustle and bustle of Bangkok is not.

The night market is perhaps the most noted thing about Chang
Mai. Located in the eastern side of the city, the night market
runs about a mile down the length of street dwarfed by malls,
restaurants, stores selling art and spas. The stalls on the side
of the road tend to sell cheap touristy products, but you should
check them out anyway to sample some of the food items. Thais
seem to take great humor from cooking anything they can get
their hands on so long as they can gross out the tourist. Yep,
you can munch on fried roaches, spiders, crickets and so on. For
a good laugh, one can hang out around the stalls and watch
tourist try the delicacies. It’s like the show Fear Factor
without the washboard stomachs and breast implants.

To find the “good stuff” at the night market, you should head
off the street and up into the open air malls. As you move
towards the back of the malls, the quality of the products goes
up dramatically. You’ll find artist not only hocking their
wares, but also creating them before your eyes. There is some
serious talent in the back of those malls.

If silk is your material of choice, Chang Mai is a good place to
purchase it in bulk. Do not buy it at the night market. Instead,
ask your hotel for a recommendation to a shop. Prices are low,
but quality is high.

Traveler’s Tip

Guidebooks will tell you the best way to get to Chang Mai is to
take an overnight train from Bangkok. Liars! Flying domestically
in Thailand is very cheap. A one-way flight from Bangkok to
Chang Mai will run you about $40US. There is no need to book
ahead. Just walk into the airport in Bangkok and buy a ticket on
the spot. If you prefer to spend the night in a bunk on a train,
knock yourself out. Just keep in mind Thais tend to have smaller
body masses than Westerners. Much smaller.

Of all the cities in Thailand, Chang Mai is my favorite. Yes,
even more so than Bangkok.

Single Cup Coffee Maker: Small Is Beautiful

A good thing is good as long as there isn’t too much of it. The
one cup coffee maker is living proof of this philosophy.

As much as you might enjoy your morning pot of fresh home-brew
coffee, or that late night cup that keeps you going for hours,
too much coffee is definitely not a good thing. As in all forms
of enjoyment, moderation is necessary so that you might keep
enjoying it for a long time. The one cup coffee maker is an
invention that lets you do just that.

It also enables you to have your coffee just as you like it,
wherever you like it. If you are a connoisseur of good coffee,
you will probably want to avoid cheap instant varieties and
prefer to brew your own. But if you travel much, that may not be
a practical option. Or if you work in a public office, it may be
a painful experience to travel to the coffee machine in the
foyer each time you need a cup. Then be forced to accept the
undrinkable stuff that is usually dispensed in those places.

So how about a small appliance that will sit quietly on your
work desk, and make fresh, connoisseur-class coffee for you
every time you felt like one?

Or how about a small apparatus that you can easily pack in with
your light luggage, something that will provide you with the
much-needed refreshment of top-quality coffee at any time, at
any location?

More Vegetable Constipation Remedies

Here are more constipation remedies using vegetables. Use vegetables every day for good health. When you have constipation then you want to eat more vegetables and fruits than normal. After you clear your constipation, them back off from eating excess vegetables and just eat what you need to prevent constipation.

Carrots, Cabbage and Raisins

Because carrots contain fiber, they help to form a good stool and promote peristaltic action. By combining carrots with cabbage and raisins, you can create an even more powerful food that will help in relieving constipation. Combine the following vegetables to form an evening salad:

* Chopped carrots

* Shredded cabbage (raw or slightly steamed)

* Romaine lettuce

* Cauliflower

* Cucumbers

* A handful raisins

* Sprinkle a tablespoon of grounded flax seeds

* Mix in 1 - 2 tablespoons of olive oil or more

* Mix in 1 tablespoon of flax seed oil

* Mix in 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or more

* One tablespoon of lecithin granules

Eat this salad once or twice a day for three days. After that you should continue to eat a vegetable salad for lunch or dinner. Make sure to drink plenty of water when eating more fiber.

Carrot and Spinach Juice

Combine 10 oz of carrot and 6 oz of spinach juice. Drink two pints daily. Both these vegetables have nutrients to help relieve your constipation.

Cucumber

Cucumbers are good for preventing constipation. But they can be used in the carrot-spinach juice or the apple-spinach juice. Cucumbers make these juices more powerful. Use only about - of a cucumber when adding it to these juices. You can experiment with how much cucumber you want to add.

Cucumbers are a natural diuretic and help to dissolve kidney stones. Because they are high in potassium, they help to promote the flexibility of colon cells. This helps to keep your colon working, as it should.

Cabbage and Asparagus

Cabbage is high in fiber and contains a good amount of potassium, foliate, beta-carotene and many other nutrients - bioflavonoids, indoles, genistein, monoterpenes. It is these various chemicals that give it its potent ability to reduce or prevent colon cancer and heal various ulcers along the gastrointestinal tract.

Cabbage is anti-bacterial and helps to heal tissues in the stomach, intestines, and colon.

Drinking cabbage juice produces intestinal gas. This gas occurs when cabbage juices combine with putrefied layers in the intestines and colon.

Use little or no salt on any preparation of cabbage. Salt destroys the nutritional value of cabbage.

There are many forms of cabbage you can use for your juices - green, red, savoy, bok choy Asparagus. Asparagus are also high in fiber. They also provide foliate and vitamins A and C. Refrigerate asparagus quickly if you are not going to use them and keep them for 3 days or less. Asparagus that have not been refrigerated lose their nutritional value quickly.

People with gout should not eat asparagus since they contain purines that can start a gout attack.

Steam your cabbage and asparagus with a slight amount of water for 3-4 minutes or less. Eat just before going to bed and take some digestive enzymes to help digest this food.

Web Marketing: Unusual Tricks Of Internet Marketing Gurus To Attract More Visibility

Do you post to message boards, e-mail discussion
lists, classified ads sites, FFA sites or newsgroups?

People will usually read the subject line before they
read your ad or message, so it’s important they get
noticed.

Below are ten simple, but powerful web marketing tips
to get your ads or messages noticed.

1. Use extra white space creatively in your subject
line. You can add extra blank spaces between your
words or letters.

2. Combine capital letters with lower case letters.
Use all capital letters in every other word or use a
capital letter between every other lower case letter.

3. Add text symbols in your subject line. You could
use them between words and letters. Start and end
your subject with a text symbol. ( *, $, >,{,] )

4. Begin your subject line with the word “STOP!”.
People have been trained their whole life to stop
what they are doing when they see that word.

5. Ask people a question in your subject line. We
all went to school and were repetitively branded to
answer questions.

6. Use the word “FREE” in your subject line. Your
offer should be attractive to your target audience.
It could be free information, software, trials, etc.

7. Begin your subject line with an “online smile :)”.
People use smiles offline to gain people’s attention
and to win their trust, why not use them online too.

8. Don’t use unbelievable claims in your subject line.
People have or know some who has been ripped
off and trained themselves to ignore those claims.

9. Don’t use all capital letters in your subject line.
It is hard to read, looks unprofessional, and on the
internet it’s considered a symbol for shouting.

10. Test different subject lines to see which ones
draws the most traffic to your web site. Also, read
the FAQ before posting a message or ad anywhere.

May these web marketing secrets help you to make a lot
of money.

Detox Diets

Detox Diets are the last craze in dieting, that’s why the number of people searching for detox diets is growing everyday.

You may have heard about toxins, detoxification, cleansing, purifying – they are all related to detox diets.

Toxins are harmful chemicals affecting your body. They are all around you (in your food, water, air) and inside you (as waste products of metabolism). Your body eliminates most toxins and the rest are stored within body fat.

These stored toxins combined with stress can affect your health in very unpleasant ways:

- weight gain
- headaches
- feelings of fatigue and weakness
- heartburn
- sore muscles and skin
- joint pains

These symptoms will fade when you start detox. Well, you may feel some discomfort in the very first days, but that is a normal body reaction.

You may feel headache or sore muscles, but that is because the toxins are released faster then your body can eliminate them. These symptoms will not occur again if you detox regularly.

Detox and Weight Loss

Detoxification is the process of releasing and expelling the stored toxins through the elimination organs of your body - the intestines, liver, lungs, kidneys and skin.

Detox Diets are dietary nutritious plans that use detoxification, which helps you lose weight by cleansing out your body and improving your metabolism.

Detox and Disease Prevention

Detox Diets are recommended for improving resistance to disease, mental state, digestion, strengthens the organs involved in detox.

Detox Diets can help prevent serious diseases such as cancer, ADD, ADHD, chronic fatigue syndrome and multiple chemical sensitivities, as well as treat heart disease, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease.

Detox Foods

Detox Diets recommend consumption of foods that are beneficial for your health and essential to weight loss - organic foods, fruits and vegetables.

You should drink purified water and cut back on processed foods, as well as give up alcohol and smoking.

You should know…

Detox Diets are quite restrictive and once you start a detox diet, you should follow it strictly. Detox Diets are safe, but you should consult your doctor before starting.

Types of Detox Diets

+ Fasting - drinking only water, juices or broths, or eating one kind of food for a certain period of time. Your body starts burning fat for energy.

+ Nutritional supplements – intake of nutritious powders, vitamins and packaged protein snacks.

+ Hydrotherapy - detoxifying through your skin pores by taking special baths.

+ Specific detox diets - last between 7 and 30 days; there are quick detox diets for one and three days, and long detox diets for 8 weeks.

Getting Your Car Ready For Summer Driving

We always seem to make sure our cars are ready for the winter,
right?

But what about during the summer? Believe it or not, the heat
takes its toll on your car, too, so it’s important to keep your
car serviced.

Periodic maintenance on your car will save you tremendous hassle
in the long run. Your vehicle should last longer and command a
higher resale price, too! I made it a point to get my car
serviced according to the dealer’s schedule, and when I traded
it in, I got far more than I expected due to the stellar
condition of the engine.

Now I know this isn’t bedtime reading, but the owner’s manual
can be your best friend - assuming you read it! At least take a
look-through periodically. How about while you’re waiting to get
your oil changed?

Follow the manufacturer’s recommended service schedules. This
could save you a major breakdown.

Have the air conditioning system looked over by a qualified
technician. A check up here can save you a huge bill later.

The greatest cause of summer breakdowns is overheating. Prevent
this problem by making sure the cooling system is flushed and
refilled as recommended.

Have your car’s belts, clamps, and hoses checked by a
technician. This only takes a few minutes and is usually
inexpensive.

Change your oil and oil filter every 3,000 miles or four times a
year.

Replace air and fuel filters as recommended.

Get plenty of windshield washer solvent - we have a tendency to
use a lot of this in the winter, so your fluids may be low.

Tires should be rotated every 5000 miles or so.

Check the spare tire to make sure it’s inflated properly. Also,
make sure you have a jack along with it!

Transmission troubles equal money troubles equal emotional
troubles! Have your transmission serviced periodically, and
prevent big-time repair bills.

If you notice that your brakes are less efficient, get them
checked out right away.

Have your battery checked periodically to see how much life it
has left!

Inspect all lights and bulbs to make sure they’re working.

Carry a first aid kit, flares, jumper cables, a flashlight, and
a cell phone.

There you go - a simple list to keep your car in great running
shape. Remember, your car needs to be maintained and checked
over even in the summer.

Taking care of your car takes only a few minutes each month, and
pays you big dividends for the life of your vehicle!

Start Your Day on Your Terms

Most of us start the day like we’re trying to catch a train. We wake up, grab a cup of coffee, look at the paper and listen to the news. We rush out of the house to make an appointment or deadline or to put the finishing touches on a project. From deadline to appointment it goes. When we leave work we have other responsibilities and obligations, and it doesn’t end until we go to sleep, and for some it still doesn’t end. We never do catch the train. We forgot one essential thing. We are the conductor and the train can’t go anywhere without us.
What if you knew deep inside that the train was not going anywhere? What would it take to develop the wisdom that there was a better way? What changes could you implement that would make a difference? I was a busy trial lawyer for thirty years, always running to catch the train. I still remember racing to the court room full of coffee and stress until I realized I was the conductor of my life. That realization allowed me to make life altering changes that continue to make my life more enjoyable, more successful and more fulfilling.
It all starts with creating your perfect morning. This is your morning, no one else’s. Consider waking up to music you love, rather than to the music or news on your alarm clock.
Then before doing anything else take 10-15 minutes and sit silently thinking about all you’re grateful for. Then start to wonder what the highlight of your day could be. From this new vantage point you might even skip that cup of coffee or that cigarette. As you leave your house and begin the flow of your day you look at each experience and wonder if this is going to be the highpoint of your day knowing there is more to come. The concept of looking at the highlight of the day can be used in any situation even one that seems unpleasant. Looking for the highlight in this experience or this person can totally change your attitude. As the day unfolds, if you sense that things inside are heating up, consider taking a little break. You might even stretch for five minutes or walk around the block. As your day progresses the biggest difference is the knowledge that you can be busy and be relaxed.
I have found that starting the day this way increases my energy and efficiency throughout the day. When I leave my house centered and focused there is a much greater likelihood that I can maintain this balance throughout the day. There has been plenty of research by psychologists demonstrating the value of taking the time for morning meditation or creative silence. I have been doing this for over thirty years and very rarely feel overwhelmed. I laugh more and generally enjoy my day. Of course I have my challenges and lose my focus periodically, but not for long. And before I go to sleep I again think about what was most special about this day.
The one thing I do know for certain is that there‘s a direct correlation between how I start my day and the quality of my life. Try a little experiment. For the next thirty days start your day on your own terms and discover the dramatic changes that are possible.

‘THE TRIANGLE’ Takes A Plunge Into Reality

The long awaited and much-touted mini-series, The Triangle, made
it’s debut on the Sci-Fi cable channel recently. As a person who
has studied the paranormal for most of his life, I always watch
these kinds of fictional entertainment projects based on
unexplained events with a slightly more critical eye then the
average viewer or sci-fi fan might. Unlike other Sci-Fi projects
that attempted to report on or fictionalize various areas of the
unexplained, this one is a gem. There are several reasons why I
believe that The Triangle is one of the best science fiction
projects based on unexplained events I have ever seen.

Beyond the fact that the cast really delivered the goods, those
responsible for the project know good science fiction. Rockne S.
O’Bannon is credited with writing the teleplay and as Executive
Producer. With projects like Alien Nation, SeaQuest DSV, Amazing
Stories and the 1980’s incarnation of The Twilight Zone under
his belt, O’Bannon knows how to tell a story well. Dean Devlin
is also one of the Executive Producers and is given writing
credits. Despite the disaster that was Godzilla, Devlin gave us
Star Gate and Independence Day. Craig R. Baxley is Director and
is certainly no stranger to the weird having been involved with
Left Behind, Rose Red and Kingdom Hospital.

Despite the luminaries that acted in, wrote, produced and
directed The Triangle, the most important reason for the success
of this mini-series may be its willingness to offer The
Philadelphia Experiment as an explanation for all the weird
happenings. It’s obvious that those responsible for this
production did their homework. Paranormal Investigators have
been linking people, planes and ships lost or missing in the
Bermuda Triangle to the infamous Navy project for many years.
Anyone wanting to create a fictional entertainment project about
weird events that occur in the area also known as the Devil’s
Triangle would be foolish to ignore the interest people have in
the possible Philadelphia Experiment connection.

Unlike other Sci-Fi channel projects based on the unexplained,
The Triangle doesn’t bother to apologize for what’s presented. I
was especially impressed with the no-nonsense manner in which
the Philadelphia Experiment material was worked into the plot.
Anyone who has studied the alleged U.S. Government
experimentation with time travel, invisibility and mind control
as deeply as I have knows what a hard sell that material is. The
Philadelphia Experiment was never just some World War II project
to make Navy ships invisible. It was and is an incredibly
complicated and diverse program that is able to exist based on
the fact of non-existence in the public mind, propped up by over
fifty years of disinformation and secrecy.

I have always said that paranormal reality is better then any
science fiction ever presented in book, film or other forms. The
cases I have investigated involving the unexplained have
challenged everything I believe or have been taught about the
world we live in. I’m not speaking of ethereal New Age concepts,
but actual occurrences which defy you to explain them. That is
what I liked about The Triangle. The characters were average
people mulling through life until they were suddenly slammed in
the face by paranormal events. Whether believers or disbelievers
by nature, none of them could deny what they were experiencing.

Most mini-series start off with a bang, then end in the most
disappointing way possible. That certainly wasn’t true of The
Triangle. In the end, the characters involved found themselves
in a new and permanently altered reality. For me, it was a more
then worthwhile payoff for watching the six hour presentation
over three nights. That’s because I not only believe it’s
possible, but have seen evidence that such things have already
happened.

As a child growing up on Long Island, I found myself constantly
confronted by things I couldn’t understand. Stories of UFO
sightings, odd disappearances, alien abductions and even strange
creature sightings were not uncommon in a place less then a one
hour drive from New York City. Add to that the weird stories I
heard from our mostly ex-military neighbors. Despite government
claims that paranormal events were often reported by untrained
observers or unstable people, most of those I met with unusual
stories to tell were very credible. These included active and
retired military pilots, police, firefighters, engineers,
scientists and technical writers. Then there was what I
experienced myself.

Our home was built in the 1950s on what had been farm property.
It was the first house built on our block. It didn’t take long
for all the houses that were subsequently erected to be
purchased. All of the homes except one were occupied by
families. That home was across the street and a couple of houses
down from us. It was occupied by an elderly couple who liked
their privacy and, it was rumored, had been involved in some
sort of scientific research for the U.S. Government. If you were
a kid, you knew better then to play in front of their home. They
would call your parents, the police or both. Obviously, they
were not the most beloved people on the block. However, that
became a non-issue one summer morning.

It was the mid-1960s and I was enjoying my summer break from
elementary school. Since most people went on vacation during
that time, I was left to roam the block and rummage up what
friends I could. With stores, a library, park and even a bowling
alley close by, I was always looking for someone to venture out
with me to those places. Each time I walked pass the house owned
by the elderly couple, I admired how well it was kept. Window
boxes were filled with carefully chosen flowers, the lawn was
manicured to perfection and bird droppings were quickly cleaned
off the sidewalk or driveway whenever any dirty bird dared to
poop on the property.

As I walked toward the elderly couple’s house to visit a friend
next store on that particular day, I was frozen in my tracks.
The house was gone! I mean it just wasn’t there and looked like
it never had been. When I mentioned this to my parents, they
assumed it was a joke. They had never seen or heard about the
couple. When they saw how serious I was, my parents assured me
that no house like I described had ever existed in our
neighborhood. My friends and their parents said the same thing.
In the interest of not being labeled the neighbor nut cake, I
dropped the matter. Beyond the fact that a house and its
occupants had managed to vanish overnight, what really bothered
me was why I was the only person who remembered the structure
and the people who lived in it. Then I remembered something.

A few days after the couple had moved in, I was walking past the
house when the elderly man called out to me. He asked if I
wouldn’t mind helping him hang some pictures and do some odd
jobs. I ran home to ask my parents for permission to go into the
house. They said it would be fine. So I spent most of that
afternoon helping the man with various jobs inside and outside
the house. I earned five dollars and some good will for my
efforts. To my knowledge, I was the only person living in that
neighborhood who had ever actually been inside the house. That
is the only reason I can think of for possessing the memories of
the house and the elderly couple.

I gave up thinking about the incident until I started the
seventh grade. My junior high school had a well stocked library.
After reading The Time Machine, A Wrinkle in Time and some
comments by physicists published in a scholastic magazine, I
began to consider the possibility that a natural or deliberate
event involving alteration of the space time continuum had
occurred. The comments by the physicists in an article about
modern science introduced me to the idea of alternative
realities and dimensions. While some felt that there were only a
few physical dimensions, others saw a universe full of
alterative realities that could eventually be accessed if the
technology to do so was available.

With that foundation, it wasn’t hard to imagine what someone
with access to technology of the type described as being used in
the Philadelphia Experiment project could do. Playing with time
would be as easy as riding a bike; until you fell off. It’s
always the aftereffects that anyone wanting to play Time God
would have to take into consideration. The consequence of
messing with the fabric of time and space would be a new and
possibly undesirable reality. That’s if you view Time as a line.
I believe that people involved in the real Philadelphia
Experiment and related projects look at Time as a continuous
circle without beginning or end. If you have the right
technology, you can jump anywhere into the circle, make subtle
changes and still retain the overall stability of the reality in
which you live. Your reality would be where you were born in the
circle.

The Triangle took a quantum leap (no pun intended) for a major
production. It dared to take a plunge in the reality that
researchers like myself have lived with for most of their lives.
That reality is the fact that we cannot always run to science or
some known database of information for answers when it comes to
understanding the unexplained. Although a fictional
presentation, I was glad to see that those involved with the
project had the guts and intelligence to step out from the usual
sci-fi mold and give the world of the paranormal the respect it
deserves without the usual skeptical disclaimers.

Experiment, The Bermuda Triangle and related topics on my

However, there are no posted release dates for Polk Audio, Rotel, or ADA.

So, If your interest is in equipping your car with an HD radio, go for it. On the other hand, if you want to add HD radio to your home, you may want to wait until closer to Christmas when there will be more choices available.
