The World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker is an annual poker competition in Las Vegas that conclusively decides who is the world’s best player in a variety of poker games. The competition originated in 1968 as an invitational event held in the Holiday Hotel and Casino. After this initial competition, the World Series of Poker underwent a series of permutations until 2004, when the series was purchased Harrah’s Entertainment. Now the location of the series changes every year among Las Vegas casinos owned by Harrah’s.

The main event every year is a high stakes Texas Holdem game with a multi-million dollar prize hanging in the balance. The main event is always a large media draw because it is televised around the world. Whoever wins the main event becomes an instant household name as a poker champion.

In order to be eligible to participate in the high stakes portion of the poker tournament, players must prove their skills in the earlier stages of the competition. There are over 45 different versions of poker available, and each individual event is set up in a tournament style. In order to continue on in the tournament, a player must win a specific number of chips at each level.

The final winner in each event receives a World Series of Poker bracelet and prize money. The prize money is calculated as part of the entrance fee for every applicant. For this reason, the exact amount of the prize depends on the overall number of entrants. For the main event, the prize money is often close to $10,000,000.

The PS3 Isn’t Just a Game Console

The video gaming experience is different for everyone, it could end in hours of entertainment for a family or for the less experience, the final result could be disappointment due to lack of knowledge of how to operate the game console. There is a baffling number of choices on the game console market. There is misinformation everywhere, so the information you are looking for may prove difficult to find.

What type of games do you find interesting?
Do you plan on buying an HDTV anytime soon or do you already have one?

Why dont we go over your financial situation so we can figure out what your budget is for it?

Which piques your interest the most, playing games with a group or the solo playing experience?
Have you got any of the old school gaming systems?

There was a period in time where one could not find a game system that cost more. Fortunately, prices are lower now than at that time. For only 400 USD (it all depends on the model you plan on buying)it has pricing that is more attractive compared their competitors. Prices change constantly so chech the latest video games console prices online.

The PS3 is an experience, it is more than just a game console. As it’s compatible with Blu-Ray, CD, and DVD media, it also has the ability to play DVDs in HD. Blu-Ray is now the leading high-definition film format; thus, if you’ve got an HDTV but no HD movie player, a PS3 might be a great means of getting both your movie and your gaming needs met in just one place. Without an HDTV display, movies in Blu-ray format don’t provide any better quality. This feature doesn’t translate well for use with a standard definition set.

While the PS2 controller is nearly identical to it, this unique controller utilizes a motion sensing technology known as Sisaxis. The controller can be tilted Six different direction for interactive game play. How well this is going to work varies from each game. Doing it well means you’ll gain lots of experience, doing it wrong means you’ll be nothing more than a problem. You need to keep in mind that the Sixasis controller is missing the vibration feature. The newly released DualShock 3 controller with vibration will not be included with newly purchased PS3s until June 12, 2008.

Video games for the PS3 and Xbox 360 are pretty much the same the same for either system.

Online poker versus live event poker tournaments (a schizophrenic IM discussion)

Me (1:03:04): Nothing beats a live event poker tournament. The smells, the face-to-face atmosphere, the sunglasses-the bluffing!

Me too (1:03:14): I disagree. I’m currently playing 12 simultaneous poker hands in 12 different software programs. Nothing beats this.

Me (1:03:24): And you’re probably playing in your boxer shorts and a stained t-shirt. Live event poker means Las Vegas, or Monte Carlo. It means hot cars, sunny locales and big pay days!

Me too (1:03:56): What’s that? I couldn’t hear you over my streaming Internet television and radio broadcasts. The guys from Top Gear, in the UK, were talking about hot cars. I also ordered some socks from Banana republic.

Me (1:04:15): And I’m sure that’s wonderful, but nothing beats real people. Nothing beats interacting with sly poker playing professionals and celebrities. When’s the last time you met a celebrity?

Me too (1:05:18): Well, I haven’t actually left the house in five days, so…

Me (1:05:20): I knew it! That’s the drawback of online poker, that and all the money you’re wasting on Internet charges. Plus, I got to meet Shannon Elizabeth last week. I think I win this one, self.

Me too (1:05:29): Really? Shannon Elizabeth? No kidding. Well, until next time.
