Even those with moderate views have said that the government is going too far by taking such filtering steps. Groups like Inspire Foundation and the Australian Library and Information Association have asserted that the guidelines by RC are too varied to effectively implement a ban.
Yahoo and Google, the internet search giants, have now joined hands with the dissenters in asking the Australian government to re-evaluate the controversial plan. They have already publicly shown their support via submissions to the consultation process of the government.
